Adio Querida (Eng. translation: “Goodbye, beloved”) is a Sephardic song. A version sung by Israeli singer-songwriter Yasmin Levy is one of the most popular. Levy’s father, Isaac Levy is credited as one of the writer of the song’s lyrics. The song is from Yasmin Levy’s 2007 album Mano Suave.
The song is used in TV Series “The Scent of Rain in the Balkans” (Serbian: Miris kiše na Balkanu), adapted from the novel of the same name by Gordana Kuić. Consisting of fourteen episodes, it was directed by actor, director and producer Ljubiša Samardžić, and produced by his wife Mirjana. The Scent of Rain in the Balkans was filmed in Belgrade, Sarajevo, Zagreb and Dubrovnik. The story is about trials and tribulations of a Jewish family from Sarajevo during turbulent times between 1914 and 1945.
